Professional Presentations
13th Annual Genesee County Literacy Conference

I presented at the 13th Annual Genesee County Literacy Conference. The session I led discussed writing and writers of the 21st century and using different digital tools to teach writing in the classroom. Although this session focused on grades 3rd-6th, the material is easily adaptable to both younger and older students.

Highlights of Teaching:
-
Blogging
-
Online Portfolios
-
Podcasting and Digital Storytelling
-
Presentation Tools (Glogster, Prezi, etc.)
I created a website for teachers who attended this session. This way they had a resource after leaving the session on information overlaod. The site includes discussion/examples and video resources teachers could use to become familiar with the digital tools presented. See that site here.
